ETA Midget All-Star Game - East Beats West 7-4
Saturday December 3, 2011 in Barrie, ON, the stars were shining at the ETA Midget All-Star game today at the Holly Community Centre during the OMHA AAA Showcase. With over 400 fans in the stands, the players did not disappoint with an entertaining skills competition to start followed by the All-Star Game.

Congratulations to both Keegan Cairns and Daniel Butchart for being chosen to play in the All Star Game!

Following the Skills Competition and a break, the players took to the ice for the game. Emotions were high and action was fast.
Donning their white jerseys was the East and West in their darks. Players came out hard and it did not take long for the chemistry to flow. After the first period, the score was tied at zero.
Second period action started as tight as the first period until twelve minutes in when Liam McDonnell from Whitby opened the scoring from a nice pass by Mitchell Smith of Oshawa. The floodgates opened and the period ended 5-3 for East.
Going into the third down two goals, the West needed to come out strong. John St. John from Ajax-Pickering scored to bring his team within one but that was as close the West would come.

The East finished the game with a 7-4 victory. MVPs were #15 Aaron Spivak from South Central Coyotes [West] and #81 Taylor Gauld from the Whitby Wildcast [East].

Coaches from each team will then select players this week to represent the ETA in the OMHA ETA vs SCTA Midget All-Star Game on January 28th in Pickering.

Congratulations to all participants and the organizing committee for a job well done.
