LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS
Submitted By Jennifer Buttar on Friday, June 18, 2021
Hello Wolves Nation:

This is my now annual call for volunteers. The last hockey (non) season was a challenging one for our athletes, families and your executive. As we look forward to the 2021-22 season, which will begin the week after Labour Day, we are also looking for volunteers to join our board.

We have a few board members carrying more than one portfolio and we hope to lighten the load on those people and we always need ‘new blood’, especially from the younger age groups. We have an immediate need for a Registrar and a Treasurer.

The Registrar position is very busy in September and then again in the New Year prior to roster freeze (usually January 10th). The primary work is online with some required liaison with coaches/managers. If you’ve ever been a registrar in one of our feeder centres (or if you currently are), remember we only have 8 teams so the workload is not too crazy.

The Treasurer position is, like it sounds, managing the Association’s books, paying bills and some liaison with our accountant.

If neither of those positions suit you at present, we are happy to consider volunteers to be Directors at Large (without portfolio).

We also currently have openings for Centre Reps for Brock, Lindsay, Manvers, North Durham and Woodville. Centre Reps are voting members of our board who represent their home centre and must be approved by their home centre board.

We meet once each month (virtually lately) and your time commitment level can be whatever you wish. If you have an interest in shaping policy and a passion for hockey, please consider joining our board of volunteers.
