What a series!!
On Sunday March 3, 2013 the Novice Wolves played in game five, and what a game it was.

With not having played a game in over a week the series began.  No one would want to have a series start, with a loss of 7-2 against Clarington in their barn, on February 22, 2013, but it did, and two days later Clarington had to come and play us in Little Britain arena.  The boys were pumped and ready to play.  It was 4-2 going into the 3rd for Clarington.  It was not looking good for the Wolves.  But with some hard work and determination the boys scored 2 in the third coming out victorious with a 5-4 score.  The third game took us back to Clarington, with the flu running thru the team, it was not looking good.  Although the score does not show it, the boys out played Clarington and fell short on the score board losing 3-5.

So, going into game 4, it was do or die for Wolves team.  We were back in Little Britain, the boys were pumped, the bleachers were full, and it was time for the Boys to show what they were made of.  There was no score after the first, and Clarington got the first goal near the 7 minute mark.  Five minutes later the Wolves answered back.  It was 1-1 going into the 3rd and everyone was on the edge of their seats.  At 12 minutes we scored, and there was no more.   The boys did it, they took game 4 winning 2-1.

The real challenge came for the boys in game 5, having to go play back in Clarington.  Again there was no scoring in the first period, and again it was Clarington who got the first goal, but quickly the Wolves came back and scored 2 minutes later.  The Wolves scored again 3 minutes later.  We were ahead, and then Clarington scored with 2 minutes left in the 2nd.  What a battle.  Going into the 3rd the Wolves scored at 12:21 and Clarington responded and scored at 9:43, were the Wolves going to have enough in them??? The Wolves were giving it all and the ran out of time.  We went into OVERTIME!!!!!  The fans were pacing, 10 minute OT, what would the outcome be...........?  The boys continued to battle, they were all over them, it was the most exciting hockey we had seen so far this year.  Five minutes go by, still no winner.  SHOOT....SAVE....BATTLE....SHOOT....SAVE.....wasn't sure how much more the fans could take and then it happened..................WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The parents were on their feet, yelling and clapping the kids had thrown theirs sticks and gloves and were hugging each other.   They did it!!!! They worked so hard and they never gave up!  They worked as a team and they able to put out Clarington in the first round!!!

Congratulations to the kids and coaching staff who made this happen!!!

WELL PLAYED WOLVES!!!   Now......Ajax
