Wolves vs. Markham
The boys travelled to Markham on Saturday Nov. 16 to take on the Markham Waxers.
Having tied this team, 3 - 3, at their previous meeting, they were hungry for a win. The Waxers were first to score half way through the first. Although the boys had some quality chances they could not net one until 12:47 in the second when Jukes, assisted by Heyes found the back of the net. This gave the boys the spark they needed. They held the Waxers to no goals in the second period, while Robertson assisted by Fergusson buried one to give the boys a 2 - 1 lead going into the third.
The 2 - 1 lead was short lived. The Waxers scored at 14:48 in the third. With the game tied at 2 - 2, the boys stayed strong, skated well and continued to work hard. The payoff was a goal from Stringer, assisted by Peterkin. Again, the one goal lead would be erased by the Waxers at 4:07. With only 4 minutes left in a tie game the tension was growing for both teams. Worsley was able to break the tension scoring the game winning goal assisted by Heyes with 34 seconds left.
