Wolves vs. Quinte
On Dec 15, the Wolves took on the top ranked team the Quinte Red Devils.
In previous meetings with Quinte the Wolves have not been victorious.
The Wolves opened the scoring in the first period with a goal by Corneil from Patterson. Two minutes later, Heyes found the back of the net with a pass from Jukes. This gave the Wolves a 2 - 0 lead going into the second.
In the second period the Wolves added two more goals, one from Corneil and another from Stringer assisted by Robertson and Best. The Red Devils also netted two goals in the second.
With a two goal lead going into the third the boys would have to work hard to hold off the top ranked team in our division. Two minutes into the third the Red Devils cut the lead to 1 and then 5 minutes later would tie the game up.
The score would stay tied, with quality chances from both sides until Stacey found the back of the net with 1:10 left in the game. The boys battle hard and were able to win the game with a score of 5 to 4.
It was a great win for the team as well as a fantastic welcome back victory for net minder Rogers. This was his first game back from an injury.
