Wolves Cup
On February 1, 2013 the Novice Wovles starting play in the Wolves Cup Tournament.

The boys started play against Peterborough and came out with a 2-1 victory.  Later on Friday they played Niagara and it ended with a tie.  The boys proceeded to play the round robin on Saturday against Oshawa and Clarington, and came out with the wins.

This put the Wolves in fourth, getting us into the semis against Oshawa, and what a game it was.  The Wolves were winning 6-4 in the third with 1:36 on the clock when Oshawa scored their 5th goal.  Then they scored the 6th goal at the 56.6 mark.   The game proceeded to a 5 minute overtime, and with no success went to a 5 minute 3 on 3.  Again scoreless it came down the shoot out.  The Wolves coach made a big gutsy move and changed the goalie, and it paid off.  Matthews made two great saves and Heyes buried it to win the game.  Every single player should be mentioned for this game it was a total team effort the forwards, Heyes, Vollans, Davidson, Revells, Langille, Worsley, Peterkin, and Stacey keep pressure on the puck, and made incredible passes, and the defence  Ibbitson, Jukes, Penna, and Best did a great job of defending and getting the puck to the forwards, and although Rogers let in some gaols, he made some awesome saves as well.

Then the Wolves proceeded into the Finals against Clarington.  For any team it is always hard to play another game after playing so hard and giving it your all.  Now the Boys may not have won on the score sheet but they definitely won in our hearts.  They played and gave everything they had and only lost 3-2.

The Novice Wolves had a great weekend, and great success, we are proud of what they accomplished this weekend.  Thank you to everyone who came out to support the team, and thank you to the volunteers and organization who made this tournament successful.

Well played Wolves!!!
