The Bantam Team turned heads this past weekend after an
impressive showing at the AAA Super Series Showcase hosted by the Mississauga
Rebels.
The first match-up of the weekend the Boys faced-off against the Buffalo Regals; having played them last year at the OMHA Championship weekend the Boys came out on top once again with a 3-2 win.
Next up was a hard-hitting team from New Jersey. There was no backing down and the team held tight to a 2-1 victory and their second "W" of the day.
Alaska was no match on Saturday; the Alaskan goal tenders saw a lot of tape to twine and went down 5-0.
Saturday night’s face-off against Team Illinois was a Barn Burner. After 2 periods of play COW was down 2-0. The boys dug deep despite seeing a lot of time in the Sin Bin, rallied back and posted another one in the win column (3-2).
The final game of the tournament the boys played against an Elite team from Long Island. Falling short 3-2 they faced their first and only loss of the tournament.
Because of excellent fore checking, strong defensive play and solid net minding between the pipes, the Bantam team finished in a four-way tie for first. Goal differential broke the tie and COW finished 3rd respectfully and posted an impressive 16 goals for and 8 against in 5 games.
Well done Boys!
