Congratulations to Wolves U12 defenseman Brayden McIvor, Champion of the Rogers Hometown Hockey Community Cup Shootout in Lindsay!!
On Friday October 22, 2021, Brayden was randomly selected by Hometown Hockey to represent the Central Ontario Wolves in the shootout competition that occured on the Desjardins ball hockey rink at the Lindsay Recreation Complex on Sunday October 24th, 2021. Brayden and three other players, all also selected to represent their local hockey associations, competed for the prize of a $3000 donation for the not-for-profit of their choice.
Brayden went fourth in the first round of competition, and played it very smart after watching the other competitors. Brayden and one other competitor, moved onto the final round of the shootout, after both getting a perfect score in the competition round. The pressure was on with having to shoot back-handed in the sudden victory style final round, however Brayden came out on top!!
Brayden was presented with giant cheque for SickKids Foundation, to be specifically allocated to the Grace Bowen Tribute Fund. He also received a trophy to keep and bring back to his team and the Central Ontario Wolves.
Congratulations Brayden!! You did an amazing job representing the Central Ontario Wolves!! If you see Brayden make sure you give him a high five!
Way to go Brayden!!
